Falcon Joslin papers, 1897-1928.

The Falcon Joslin Papers contain correspondence newspaper clippings, memorabilia and a substantial photograph file. The correspondence consists primarily of Joslin's personal letters to his wife, describing his business activities from 10 May 1900 through 12 October 1927. Many of the photographs feature Fairbanks, Alaska, and scenes of the Tanana Valley Railroad, but the collection also includes images of Haines, Skagway, Manley Hot Springs, Katalla, and other Alaskan communities, as well as images of the Klondike region in the Yukon.

Falcon Joslin (1866-1928), an attorney from Tennessee, came north to Dawson, Yukon, in 1897 and worked as a mining broker. He also organized and was president of Dawson Electric Light and Power Company. On moving to Fairbanks, Alaska, he was builder and president (1903-1917) of the Tanana Valley Railroad, the first railroad in interior Alaska. He was also president of Alaska Wireless Telegraph Company (1910) and of the St. Elias Oil Company, Katalla, Alaska (1916). He died in Seattle, Washington...
